SPICY HOLIDAY MEATBALLS

These spicy meatballs are boldly flavored with our pineapple hot sauce, cumin, paprika, and cayenne. The sauce is awesome with our Sweet Garlic & Habanero Sauce, and you can serve these meatballs over regular or cauliflower rice, as an entree or even as a crowd-pleasing appetizer at your next holiday party!
INGREDIENTS:
Tomato Sauce
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
• 1 teaspoon kosher salt
• 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
• 1 teaspoon ground cumin
• ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
• 3 chopped tomatoes, or two 15oz cans diced tomatoes, undrained
Meatballs

• 1 lb. 85% lean ground beef
• 1 teaspoon Diamond Crystal kosher salt
• 1 teaspoon onion powder
• 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
• 1 teaspoon ground cumin
• 1 teaspoon ground coriander
• ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
• ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

DIRECTIONS:
Prepare the tomato sauce:
• In a wide, heavy saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat, about 3 minutes.
• Add the garlic and cook 1 minute.
• Add the spices, hot sauce and cook, stirring, 30 seconds.
• Add the chopped tomatoes. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Prepare the meatballs:
• In a medium bowl, use your hands to mix the meat, spices and hot sauce.
• Divide into 24 equal portions (each weighs about 20 grams) and shape into small, 1-inch meatballs.
• Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan and lightly fry the meatballs.

• Add the fried meatballs to the tomato sauce. Turn heat to medium-high and bring to a boil, then lower heat back to medium-low, cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
